Please research Shotokan Coconut Creek on Google and check out the website see if it is A mcdojo. If it is can u please recommend a Karate Academy around that Area|||In my experience, Dojos that teach Shotokan are usually pretty authentic. There are a lot of McDojo%26#039;s that teach Taekwondo, or generic %26quot;Karate%26quot;. There are even some bogus BJJ and Krav Maga schools starting to surface, taught by people who have gone to a couple of seminars and watched a couple of videos on Youtube. But I haven%26#039;t seen a lot of wannabe Shotokan schools around.|||looks like a very genuine karate school with tradition and dedication to the art, especially the summercamp was what stood out to me. common characteristics of a McDojo are; 50 students per class, huge school that can%26#039;t even be classified as a dojo and has its own zip code, commercials on TV every waking moment, cheesy promos all over the place.|||Karate....... You truly don%26#039;t know if the coach just wants your money or wants to expand the martial arts until you try out a couple of classes.
I quit Karate and Takewon do, because in about 1 month I realize they just want my money so I quit, and switch to a better thing that was no profit.
And lets face it, most of the coaches just want your money, but there are some out there in the US that teaches to expand the martial arts.|||it looks like a good dojo to me. the instructor is 4th dan in the JKA and trained in japan. kind of expensive though at $110 ...is it worth it to you?|||It seems like an active school. Their system is straight forward IMO. If you can swing the money go for it and good luck.
