What should I eat before a Karate Tournament?

This is my first tournament, and I will be having matches in the morning and in the afternoon.|||carbs (pasta)|||If you check back through some of my answers you will find a couple concerning this and other aspects of competing like what kind of shoes to even wear at the tournament. Yes sir; even that can make a difference!

As for your immediate question pasta the night before is a good source of carbs and so are McDonald%26#039;s pancakes the next morning although those can be a little heavy so I would not eat an entire order. I would wash that down with some orange juice and make sure to drink some water at the tournament. Fruit as a snack, especially bananas are great and help keep you from getting stiff and sore because they have a high amount of potassium and help break down lactic acid build-up. Avoid soda, candy, coffee the day before and day of the tournament as they contain high amounts of caffeine and that messes with your ability to process and break down other things like sugars and carbs making you feel like you have no energy.|||You should carbo load the day before. last meal of the day but not less than a couple hours before turning in. Eat a good breakfast a couple hours before getting to the tournament. Hydrate well about 1 hour before you get in the ring. Drink something like %26quot;Gatorade%26quot; after first match than water. If you eat at the tournament complex carbs are the best. I like Cliff Bars. They look like cow dung but have a good balance of carb and protein for sustained energy. and don%26#039;t mess up the stomach under stress. A light lunch at most if you are down for a couple hours.to clear the upper digestive track.

Good luck. Your first tournament will give your stomach a lot to work on;) Don%26#039;t focus on the outcome to much and you will do fine.|||If you take karate classes, you must have an instructor or whatever they call him/her. If you have an instructor, you have to ask him/her.|||Eat oatmeal in the morning for breakfast. Snack every hour up till your event. Something small like trail mix or other carb loaded snacks. Make sure you drink plenty of water.|||Pasta any type of noodles, or even just plain peanut butter and jelly

Eat Pasta Run Fasta, Lol sorry thats what my football coach used to always say|||carbs nothing special u eat carbs before anything ... it prbly wont help u going to be sitting around alot

have fun good luck|||Not a lot, maybe a peanut butter jelly sandwhich. But def not right b4 your match or you will throw it up.|||You should eat fruits and Drink water so that you won%26#039;t get tierd (don%26#039;t drink to much).|||A large tin of baked beans, that should put the wind up your apponents|||Bananas... try a peanut butter and banana sandwich.|||Carbs, carbs, carbs! They work the best, like pastas, breads, etc.
