Could a good street fighter who has no training in martial arts beat a jiu jitsu or karate expert in a fight?

I am thinking about doing mma, and might take jiu jitsu. I kknow some good street fighters who might not need training to beat some of those people i see on tv; although i know martial arts are eloquent and ideal, they can be beat.|||A streetfighter is somebody who has fought to learn what he knows.

A Jiu jiusu or karate expert has trained to learn a combat system.

Either one can win, depending on the amount of training, dedication, skill, and phisical ability it could improve the odds.

good luck!|||Techniques and styles are only a couple of aspects of fighting. Agility, reflexes, strength, and inginuity must also be taken into account. A good fighter, regardless of training has a high skill level in all of these and can adjust easily to surroundings and situations. It%26#039;s definitely possible for a street fighter to be able to beat someone with martial arts training, if he or she has enough skill. I good fighter nows to %26quot;attack where your enemy is weak, retreat where he is strong.%26quot; (The art of war by sun tzu)|||Absolutely. There is a saying in law enforcement. It goes:

%26quot;Training and technique are fine, but violence rules the day%26quot;

This means the one who is willing to be the most violent, fight the hardest, do whatever it takes to win, will prevail.

Training is great, it%26#039;s an integral part of victory. But so is toughness and you can%26#039;t really teach toughness.|||Well like the old saying goes %26quot;everyone has a punchers chance%26quot;. It only takes one good shot at the right time in the right place to take some one out. And it doesnt matter who%26#039;s throwing it. Hard part is finding it.|||anything possiable|||in a fight any body can beat some one but if am betting i will bet on the expert.|||Yes, because the jiu jitsu person might not know how to take hits and just get knocked out while attempting for some moves, and then the karate person might not be experienced and the street fighter might just take em down n pound on them on the floor. and jiu jitsu isnt really good for street fighting wise because of all the concrete there is out in the street. it will hurt you to grapple there, and if the person is big, you`ll get squashed.|||i think the expert would win.|||anyone has the chance of anything in a street fight. But a trained fighter has a much better chance.

a person can usually fix a leaky faucet , but a trained plumber can diagnose a problem/ in fighting a trained fighter can analyze a position from experience and make use of it in their favor.|||when I go downtown and watch the open call mma fights the guy who has training usually wins over the street fighter.|||no one is invincible,a street fighter or an expert..|||to win a fight u need a guts ....n street fighter have guts on them n they r not worried abt family or life.....for then there is no rules...they can attact with any thing they want..its all abt courage...i have seen one street fighter who hit the karate guy with hammer on his head.....at tat time karate tequniques didnt work......never mess with stret fighters|||Nobody really talked about luck. Seing as though both are trained (in the thier own ways) You can not discount the streetfighter. He has experience and skills developed through hard knocks. Sure the martial artist has trained but he is limited to rules. If the martial artist can looked passed those said rules then he /she will have the advantage. Whoever can make his opponent play his game has already won.....

Are you saying you are a good streetfighter? Or just lucky?|||Martial Arts isn%26#039;t really about beating someone up , so much as it is avoiding trouble to begin with, letting people know you can hold your own if they mess with you, as well other philosophies.

It would be best if you never get into a fight period. You can go to jail as a karate expert just as fast as you can a streetfighter..|||Street fighting is like on the job training. A street fighter who has been fighting at least once a week, for years, has learned the hard way. He knows what to do, and what not.

Most good street fighters had to lose a lot of fights (rookie mistakes) in their early days before they got better.|||It%26#039;s possible for a streetfighter to beat a martial artist. Anything is possible. If a streetfighter has a lot of experience fighting and goes against a black belt who does sport karate, then I would give it to the streetfighter.

In a real streetfight, there%26#039;s the possibility to use knives, guns, cheap shot and multiple opponents. No rules.

However, I would put my money on a jiujitsu expert to beat the streetfighter though.|||It%26quot;s a fight, so anything could happen. Once punches start fling and and you grab a hold of each other there is no one that can%26#039;t be beaten. I would say that the person with training gas the advantage in that he/she is used to the motions and the mind set that are involved. Also the trained fighter has a huge cardiovascular advantage. This can and often does make all the difference in a fight.

But like I said, it%26#039;s a fight, so anything could happen.

PS. But one thing is for sure, I would put my four years of Muay Thai against these %26quot;good street fighters who might not need training to beat some of those people i see on tv%26quot; that you know.
