What to watch out for when fighting a black belt in karate?

Me and this kid are fighting. its not a street fight we are wearing gloves, mouth guard etc, but hes is a black belt in karate,, practice by my self or with friends at home in boxing and brazilian jiu jitsu. since he has a black belt in karate what would be the biggest thing to watch out for? IM assuming kicks but hes pretty fat so he wont be able to kick high, is there anything else?|||Do you know what style Karate he uses?

However one thing%26#039;s for sure,

no matter what style, his kicks aren%26#039;t going to be high.

Unless it%26#039;s a running jump kick or something, he won%26#039;t target your head.

Guard Low|||first of all, protect your body since he does karate and never let your hands down ever.if he misses a shot, take advantage and use your boxing skills to hurt him. if he take you to the ground or vice versa, use the brazilian jiu jitsu to submit him. now i dont know if this strategy will work but if one thing for sure. keep those hand up !|||Many things to watch out for. It also depends on what types of Karate he practices. Shotokan or Kyoushin. Either way, his strikes will be fast so keep your guard up constantly. You depicted him as %26quot;overweight%26quot; so his kick speed shouldn%26#039;t be a problem at all. His flexibility will also be restricted because of this. Nevertheless, watch out for his %26quot;sweeps.%26quot; It%26#039;s a technique that is used in Kumite (sparring) in Karate. The fighter will use their front or back foot and hit the back of your knee hard and knock you off balance. If I%26#039;m not being clear, type in %26quot;Lyoto Machida%26quot; on YouTube. Watch for his foot %26quot;sweeping%26quot; motion. (literally like a brooms) It knocks the opponent off balance and the fight will move to the ground.

I don%26#039;t know how experienced you are at BBJ, but if its a ground fight then you should have no problem.

Note that some of the kick will be easier to spot coming, but some will be surprising. For instance, he may use a front snap kick. In his fighting stance, instead of kicking with his back leg, he%26#039;ll kick with his front leg. It will catch many fighter off guard and it will daze you guaranteed.|||IF IF IF he truly is a black belt. look out for feet hands elbows knees Waite why are you getting in the ring with him if you had the skill and training to fight him you would not have to ask . think about the beating you are about to git. but if you must fight hit hard hit fast and keep hitting. that%26#039;s your only chance.|||that depends on there style and experience, most people dont realize whats in there own style, and that grappling is part of karate.|||Close the distance as fast as you can. Don%26#039;t give him any room for punches and kicks just stay in a tight clinch or hug on him boxing style and work the body, and grab hold of the hands every chance you get until you can get him to the ground. If you take away his punches and kicks, you have a decent chance of winning.|||watch for the shots to the chest and the low kicks to the legs black belts in karate dont hit the head much cause in the nationals if they hit someone in the head the other guy gets the point so watch for the chest and legs|||If your friend was a true black belt in Karate then he would not be %26quot;play%26quot; fighting with you at all. In authentic Karate, under a good Sensei you will learn that using your skills for playing is never permitted because accidents can happen causing damage to your opponent...but like I said if he were a real black belt in real good school with a real Sensei.
