Thats what my taekwondo school has.|||Originally the student received a white belt, and through training that belt would become more and more dirty. More dirty-More experience. Therefore the belts can vary from school to school, but they should theoretically get darker and darker. I hope this helps. Report Abuse

BLACK BELT|||I depends on the style, the organization the school is affiliated with and the school itself. Some may only have about 3 or 4 belts while others may have 10 to 15 belts. The colors white, brown, and black are the most common with white usually being the least experienced and black being the most.

Many karate schools use the many belts to make money off the students and having them pay testing fees. This is common in a mcdojo, which are karate (or for the martial arts in general) schools that focus on making money off the students often by reducing the quality of the training. Places that really focus on going up in rank rather quickly (and usually have 10 or more belts), and promote on who pays for it are almost always belt factories and mcdojos.

My advice to you would be not to worry about the rainbow of colors the belts have. Belts and ranks only mean something inside the dojo and it does not exactly make one of higher standing a better karateka. Focus on getting quality training and doing things right, not on getting a different (higher ranking) color belt after X amount of time.|||it varies a bit

white, yellow, orange ,purple, green ,blue ,brown ,black you have to get three white strips and one red before you can test for your next belt. At least that was my school
