Is it of a good idea for girls to learn karate in order to fight defilers?

a school in Uganda has introduced karate lessons for the girls,this is in order to fight defilers.the girls are trained in the art of punching,kicking,knee and elbow strikes.is it of a good idea for girls to learn karate in order to fight defilers?|||If this is the first and only form that the women of Uganda can get then YES this is a really, really good sign. Yes... by all means... it is a good thing.

In truth, I haven%26#039;t heard the term %26quot;defilers%26quot;. I can guess, by some of my own experiences, that this is a very bad word for girls.

I%26#039;m in Canada and things are a bit different now. But women all around the world have similar problems dealing with the wrong kinds of men. We all should defiantly learn a few tricks to protect ourselves.

In Canada And the US we have a sport called the %26quot;Ultimate Fighting Championship%26quot;. And over the years I have watched and learned. There are many ways to fight, defend and offend, it%26#039;s now kinda boring to watch on TV yet still (over the years I have watched) the best of fighters use something called %26quot;grappling%26quot; (I hope I spelled that right) it%26#039;s a combination of wresting (not the fake kind) finding pressure points and twisting your apponent to your will no matter what size or agression.

This style of fighting is defensive, yet, also the highest success rating in winning competative fighting there is. And I think this would be the best and yet the most diplomatic and ultimately the most effective way of dealing with aggressive behavior. Karate, teaches you many things things that are important you must prepare to learn new ways of thinking. If that is what your options are are then please take the study if you can it is worth it. We Candians did a long time ago and it helped us big time. I recommend you focus on the %26quot;pressure points%26quot;

Yes it is a good idea.|||I see no problem with it. Intelligence is often more important in a fight than brute strength. And some girls are just stronger than some guys. But karate might not be the best martial art because it fights strength with strength, and usually the guy is going to be stronger. Tai chi would work better because it teaches you to use your opponent%26#039;s force against him. But the problem with Tai chi is that you have to learn it for a really long time before it%26#039;s useful.

I have faith in these girls, personally. I think anything that gives girls better odds against dehumanizing men is a good idea.|||a few good manuevers may help... but i took karate and became a black belt and i think a wrestler would kick my *** any day... i%26#039;d become a wrestler if i were you, the ability to basically harness all of their energy and turn it against them... if you want to take years and years of kung-fu then you could do that too, maybe even better but you%26#039;re not going to come in contact with a jackie-chan rapist.|||if you%26#039;re a 50kg girl, karate isnt going to do anything against an 85kg man charged on testosterone and adrenaline.

Its very simple to stop your attacker if you%26#039;re a girl. Kick the man in the balls. Vomitting and intense agony will follow for the man. (trust me i know about being hit in the balls)|||You betcha! If you carry a purse, there are a number of things that you carry that can also be defense weapons, like a pen, keys, body spray to the eyes. Always be on guard and prepared.|||This is a sick world so its nice for a girl to know some sort of defence. Its even better that the school is introducing it.|||Definately, especially if you live in south africa like me!|||Maybe, but in the USA, girls just get real big and fat till they turn off any would be attackers.|||I%26#039;m not sure karate is the best martial arts for self defense, but it is better than nothing.|||It%26#039;s a good idea to help them learn to defend themselves|||Yes,it is.|||YES, AND MAKE SURE YOU KICK THEM IN THE *********TS
