What is the difference between these two teaching Karate classes?

My grandson, age 5, goes to a Karate School and is in Little Dragons (and the Little Dragon Club) AND my great-niece, age 8, goes to the YWCA and takes classes in JAPANESE for her lessons. What is the difference in teaching and/or methods? The school is obviously the more costly|||The Y course is going to be more traditional and hence she%26#039;ll learn more of the art and probably be far more disciplined.

The %26#039;School%26#039; will likely treat karate more like a fun activity for kids to get in to. They will do some learning of the art, but its more of a introductory program than learning anything of real substance.|||neither of them is really learning anything that will help them defend themselves that they can use now.

however, it does indoctrinate them into the concepts so even if they are at a %26quot;mcdojo%26quot; now, then they will at least be familiar with certain concepts and if they stick with it then when they are older, they will be able to learn a bit easier since they are already familiar with the concepts.

teaching kids is a difficult thing because of the liability involved. you can%26#039;t REALLY teach kids as real martial arts training must involve progressive resistance.

I highly doubt these children are at ages where they are emotionally mature enough to be able to punch and be hit by an opponent.
