How much do Karate classes cost for kids?

I want to put my 4 year old in Karate. Is that too young? He loves watching and trying to imitate the moves. How much does it cost, generally? Any tips on how to find a good business?|||First off all ignore all the mcdojo crap that is based on biased opinions. Secondly 4 is not too young but be very wary of recreational based schools that will offer you little value for your money. Stay away from ATA schools or other chain schools. You should expect to pay around $69 to $99 per month for a school that has qualified instructors who have been trained to properly teach children that young and maintain discipline and ethics in their dojo. Many people believe that that if a dojo charges good fees they are just a sell out but the best instructors in the world of traditional martial arts charge much more than I quoted you.

Visit the schools you are interested in, meet with the owner...not just an instructor. Get an idea on their morals and ethics after all these will transfer into your child. Avoid listening to this McDojo this and that and do what is best for your child.

Added if they try and pressure you into joining up that day just walk out since they are only interested in your money and not helping your child. High pressure sales tactics are the scorn of true dojo. We do not do them and do not believe in them. You should train with a good Sensei and Dojo because you want to not because you were offered some great deal.|||Remember that a 4 year old shouldn%26#039;t be expected to really learn the martial arts. Instead, they should be encouraged to continue on with it when they%26#039;re older and could really learn something from taking classes.

So, I%26#039;d have to disagree with the previous answer; the ATA is great for kids, they have special programs designed for kids as young as 3 to have fun in a martial arts environment. Remember that the focus is not to be able to learn a 540 kick (though it%26#039;d be cool seeing a 4 year old do one), but just to have fun. Classes shouldn%26#039;t run you more than $100/month.|||Don%26#039;t go to a Mcdojo, which is a karate place that has high fees, and just want your money...

Find a Karate place that has a low fee..

If you find a Karate place that charges more then $120 a month then more then likely it a Mcdojo

Ignored the guy below me, I have been to 2 Karate places to try them and out, and I can tell you now that the first one I went to charged a low fee, and had a great instructor. I then went to check out the next Karate place, and the instructor said if you join my place you will get a blue belt when you join, and will pay $150, he thought he can%26#039;t suck me in to playing his fee.

So the guy below me is a dumbass who goes to a Mcdojo and doesn%26#039;t want to believe it.|||the classes for children range form $70 to about $100, these are the reasonable prices.

4 years old depends on the child and his attention span. but at that age they will not learn much.

personal i dont take them that young but there are instructors that will take them|||Karate Dojos are 97% Mcdojo fakez0r gay. Take MMA
