from Wikipedia|||Tae kwon do compared to other forms of self defence is incredibally well organised. They have one major govening body that controls and supports clubs located throughtout nearly every country in the world. Tecnique, pattens, rules etc are exactly the same no matter where you go in the world.
Karate, although worldwide if not as unified.|||Many sports are not included at the Olympic games but the IOC constantly reviews applications to include (or remove) sports from the schedule.
Karate is under review for consideration at the Olympic games (and Tae Kwan Do is being reviewed for removal I understand), so who knows... maybe Karate will be at a games in the future.|||no not every sport just the sports that can drum up enough people who can badger the olympic selection boards I%26#039;m personally waiting for the black pudding tossing championships |||I do believe as they have events in Tae-Kwon-Do and Judo... (which apparently are the most popular martial arts in the world) ... The committee voted against another Martial Arts contest. |||there are so many subtypes of karate it would be tough to pick an out and out style. plus if it was all kumite (sparring) then it would be too similar to TKD|||Then they%26#039;d have to include Kung Fu, Muy Thai, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and all of those boring sports.|||I think its because it can injure people badly.|||i know i wish it was
