Whats that move called where the karate guy kicks to stand up?

Like in those jackie chan movies where he%26#039;s on the ground and then kicks up into a stand. whats the move called and how do you do it?|||You might have more luck finding info with the proper spelling %26quot;kip-up%26quot;. It%26#039;s an acrobatic maneuver that%26#039;s seen in martial arts, gymnastics, and various dance forms.

Other names include %26quot;kip%26quot; or %26quot;kipping%26quot;, %26quot;rising handspring%26quot;, %26quot;kick-up%26quot;, %26quot;kick-to-stand%26quot;, %26quot;liyudating%26quot;, and others. Note that the different names are not simply for the same maneuver, but may refer to slight variations (proper liyudating, for example, is done without the aid of the hands).|||This goes by a lot of names. My instructor calls them %26quot;cat springs%26quot; but the previous post %26quot;Kippup%26quot; is the most %26quot;correct%26quot; term.

Another couple terms I%26#039;ve heard used often are %26quot;flip-up%26quot; and %26quot;kick-up%26quot;, pretty similar to kippup but perhaps easier for english speakers to remember;)|||It%26#039;s called a kip-up. It%26#039;s an acrobatic move that I would never use it a fight. It%26#039;s a waste or time and energy.|||Kippup.
