Is there a difference between kung fu and karate sparring?

I mean in the sparring it seems you don%26#039;t necessarily use the moves (stances, kick/punch styles) when sparring. You see it in the films but the reality of a martial arts fight is different. Is all the sparring the same except for certain crutial moves? Can this be said of all martial arts sparring (grappling aside)?|||You are right, there is much similarity in the traditional martial arts sparring, it is ironic that after all those fancy moves it comes down to throwing front kicks, roundhouse kicks, jabs, crosses, hooks and the occasional front punch, reverse punch or backfist.

In the movies, especially Jet Li movies, you see spectacular displays of wushu (chinese stage combat) as well as Xing Yi, Bagua Zhang and Tai chi.

In Tai Chi there are both stationary and moving push hands, which is much like greco roman, in that the object is not only get smooth, but to sense the weakness of others and exploit it and take the opponent down.

I love grappling and watching the grapplers, as what they do is far more fluid and comes truly from the heart, as grapplers move each other around, bearing the body weight of their opponentswhile attempting to gain advantage.

It is the deficiency in traditional martial arts sparring that has given rise to the popularity of Muay Thai, BJJ and combat arts.
