As simply and briefly as possible(you%26#039;d need a book, really):
Kung Fu is Chinese, Karate is Japanese, and Tae Kwon Do is Korean in origin.
Where Kung Fu and most Karate forms use mostly hand blocks and punches, Tae Kwon Do uses almost 80% kicking foot techniques, and has a much greater range because of this.|||karate is not and never has been japanese.it%26#039;s okinowan.kung fu is chinese, tkd is korean.karate and kung fu are designed for self defence.tkd is deigned as a make believe sport and a way of taking ppls money.they all have there origins in india.|||Nothing much really, Most Martial Arts have similar principles in some shape or form.
the biggest difference is their focus and how their taught.
often, the disciplines of Kung Fu focus on the internal as well as the external aspects of Martial Arts.
the disciplines of Karate often focus on the strength or power in the techniques.
Tae Kwon Do often focuses on timing and speed along with control of the technique.
but there%26#039;s really no difference in them.|||aww jeez..here we go...k
Taekwondo: I take Taekwondo and I love it. It%26#039;s a Korean martial art that is famous for it%26#039;s kicking. Most people say it%26#039;s unaffective in a real fight but that%26#039;s only for people who don%26#039;t know how to use their Taekwondo is a real fight. I know of two big tkd federations. International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) and World Taekwondo Federation(WTF). ITF taekwondo is traditional and focuses on everything from sparring, patterns(kata), breaking, and self defence. WTF taekwondo is actually considered more sport like because it mostly teaches point sparring. If you were in a fight and you tried fighting as if you were sparring, you%26#039;d lose bad. Most ITF schools don%26#039;t weaponary and I don%26#039;t know about WTF. If they did it would probably be nunchaku, kama, bo, and maybe katana.
I don%26#039;t know much about others but I%26#039;ll try...
Karate: KArate is japanese and literally means empty hand. There are many types of Karate and the only ones I can remember are okinawan and shotokan. Okinawan karate uses a lot more hand techniques than feet. It can train you to do more throws and self defence techniques than Taekwondo. Most Karate schools would teach weapons.
Kung Fu: There are MANY types of kung fu. It%26#039;s Chinese and originated from Indian martial arts. The first kung fu was Shaolin Kung fu from the Buddhist temples. Lots of styles are Wushu, hung gar, choy li fut, tai chi, qi gong, and many others. Kung fu is very good for street fighting if you know how to use it. It%26#039;ll teach you good self defence and a lot of cool stuff I want to learn like animal styes or drunken boxing. The styles are more creative than karate or taekwondo. There is also some wushu which is contempary and considered sport like. It teaches you how to perform in wushu.
If you%26#039;re thinking of starting a martial art, just try looking for a good teacher and school.|||for starters they were developed indifferent regions of the world.Karate came from Okinawa and Japan,Kung-Fu originated in China and Taekwondo came from Korea all empty handed fighting developed centuries ago some for strengthen the mind and body during meditation.|||kung fu being the oldest, has more circular patterns.
karate being a mixture of kung fu and okinawa te, is more straight forward.
tae kwon do being a mixture of karate and moo duk kwan, is similar to karate but has many high and jumping and spinning kicks.
